Answers to the questions we hear most about setting up PiggyBank, rewarding good habits and managing pocket money.
Open the app and tap the profile switcher at the top of the Home screen, then choose to add a new kid. Give them a name and pick a piggy bank character for them — you can add as many kids as you like.
Yes. PiggyBank supports multiple kids, each with their own piggy bank, pocket money balance, good actions and rewards. Switch between them using the name selector at the top of the Home screen.
Yes. When you set up a kid, you can pick from a range of piggy bank characters — pig, cow, elephant, lion, panda and more. You can change the character again later from the kid's settings.
A Good Action is a habit or task, like making the bed or using the potty, that earns coins when completed. Tap Good Actions on the Home screen, then tap the action to add coins straight to your kid's pocket money.
On the Good Actions or Rewards screen, tap the "+" button in the top right. Give it a title, choose an icon or upload your own photo, and set how many coins it's worth.
Each Reward shows the total number of coins your kid needs to collect, like a mini savings goal. As they earn coins, the reward's coin row fills in. Once it's full, they can redeem it and the coins are deducted from their balance.
Yes. When creating a Good Action or Reward, you can assign it to a single kid, or leave it unassigned so it's available to all kids on the app.
Yes. Tap the "…" menu on any Good Action or Reward card to edit its title, icon or coin value, or to delete it. Deleting doesn't affect coins your kid has already earned.
Their coin balance is shown under the piggy bank on the Home screen, both as a number and as a row of coin icons — a fun, visual way for younger kids to see their savings grow.
Yes. Tap the +/- button next to the coin balance on the Home screen to adjust it directly, which is handy for one-off bonuses or corrections outside of a Good Action or Reward.
No. PiggyBank tracks virtual pocket money only, as a way to encourage good habits and teach saving. It doesn't move, hold or connect to any real bank account or payment method.
Yes. All data is stored locally on your device. For full details on what's collected and how it's handled, see our Privacy Policy.
If you've backed up your data, restoring it on a new device will bring back all kids, piggy banks, coin balances, Good Actions and Rewards exactly as you left them.
Open the kid's profile from the name selector, then go to their settings to remove the profile. This permanently deletes their coin balance, Good Actions and Rewards, so it can't be undone.
